MEET JAMES A. “Jim” DALEY
James A. “Jim” Daley has worked in criminal justice for 45+ years. He is a longtime resident of Campbell County with an extensive background in law enforcement including years of service in both state and local governments as well as a successful private law practice. His mixed background as a lawyer and police officer has helped set Jim Daley apart as uniquely qualified to manage the Campbell County Detention center.
Jim Daley’s Positions Have Included:
- (Current) Jailer at the Campbell County Detention Center.
- (Current) President of the Board of Directors with the Kentucky Jailers Association.
- Legal Advisor & Chief Deputy, Campbell County Detention Center.
- Attorney, Campbell County Attorney’s Office.
- Director, Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force, Kentucky State Police.
- Appointed State Police Legal Office Commander, Kentucky State Police.
- State Trooper, Kentucky State Police.
Jim Daley’s family hails from Northern Kentucky and they are established in the area. Jim Daley attended Campbell County High School. He worked full time with the Kentucky State Police while attending undergrad classes at Northern Kentucky University. He graduated with degrees in criminal justice and public administration. Jim Daley went on to receive his juris doctor from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
Before taking on the role as jailer , He earned 15 years of management experience with the Kentucky State Police. He also studied law and used his mixed experience in the legal sector to enter into jail management. Jim Daley was first appointed to the jailer position in 2013, before running and winning his first election in 2014.
When Jim is not busy running the Campbell County Detention Center and working with his law partners, he spends his time with family out in the community. Jim Daley is married to Jackie Daley and they have 5 children, including two sets of twins.
